Director Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) tackled the American public educational system for his 2010 documentary Waiting for Superman. Composer Christophe Beck (We Are Marshall, The Hangover, Burlesque) does a nice job balancing out the rural and urban atmospheres demanded by the film's protagonists, dutifully employing strings, soulful piano, and moody fingerpicked guitar wherever the characters and situations demand them. ~ James Christopher Monger
