Notes & Reviews:
Tactus is proud to present its most ambitious project ever: Girolamo Frescobaldi's complete published works for keyboard in a 12-CD box set! This great project started when Tactus founder Serafino Rossi commissioned the first recordings in 1986. Sergio Vartolo, one of the most acclaimed specialists of the Renaissance repertoire, released the first two sets in 1989 and 1990, respectively. In 1999, he passed the baton to Roberto Loreggian and Francesco Tasini. The box includes a rich essay, in which Maestro Tasini examines the style and keyboard production of the greatest contemporary of Claudio Monteverdi. A milestone release!
"For these CDs Vartolo and Tactus dedicated a great effort for the reaching of the highest possible level both for performance and sound quality." - Gramophone
