Reissued from the original 1985 LP, this new CD of Vincent Persichetti’s piano works offers the only currently available recordings of the Tenth and Eleventh Piano Sonatas that were personally approved by Persichetti. The original LP received excellent reviews with Fanfare noting that pianist Ellen Burmeister “plays with a warmth and delicacy” and American Music stating that “Ms. Burmeister exhibits a rich understanding of the composer’s mode of expression”
