Album Reviews:

Record Collector (magazine) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "Loren's role is clearly the straight foil, the glamorous movie star setting up the gags, though she does get the occasional solo spot..."

Album Notes

Much (though not all) of this was recorded with Sophia Loren, who had just co-starred with Sellers in The Millionairess. Although it's certainly amusing, this doesn't rank as high as his earlier albums -- the duets with Loren are quaint, but don't have the biting edge of his best music satires. That didn't stop a couple of them from becoming British hits (both of those, "Goodness Gracious Me!" and "Bangers and Mash," are included here). Sellers goes it alone on the spoken comic sketches, although these again aren't as good as the ones on his first two LPs. Reissued in its entirety as part of the Celebration of Sellers box. ~ Richie Unterberger
