Notes & Reviews:

Alejandro Picó-Leonís was born in Alicante, Spain and began playing piano at the age of seven. His orchestral repertoire ranges from the piano concertos of Mozart and Beethoven to Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and de Falla's Noches en los Jardines de Espana. In 2002 he made his Carnegie Hall recital debut, and has since performed in such esteemed venues as Steinway Hall and the Auditorium of the United Nations.

Fanfare
The Schubert is as fine as the Mozart, and for the same reasons... his sound is always beautiful... In the Chopin, his best characteristics come together and he gives a memorable interpretation, with light filigree, extremely subtle pedaling, and perfect balances. I hope to hear him play more Mozart and Schubert, and perhaps Haydn and Bach. These would seem to be the composers best suited to his restrained style. The recorded sound is very fine throughout.
