Like its predecessor Stimmung, Dent's second record Verstarker is all over the map stylistically -- if a musical genre exists, it's likely to make its influence felt here. Recorded with an expanded lineup of Magnetic label artists working under goofy aliases, the infusion of new players brings an even greater diversity of influences and ideas, yet this time out the project is more focused and direct, resulting in a more consistent listening experience. ~ Jason Ankeny
