There's some evidence that Ysaÿe himself, who was recorded a few times, tended toward a more dramatic approach, but Koprowski deserves credit for running counter to type, and this is certainly a more-than-competent reading of some pieces that seem to take the whole cultural inheritance of the early 20th century and place it on the four strings of a single violin.
