Born in Manchester in 1964, Ronan O'Hora studied with Professor Ryszard Bakst at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he won several awards, including the Dayas Gold Medal and the Silver Medal of the Worshipful Company of Musicians. While still at college he received invitations to appear with many leading orchestras, including the Hallé, Bournemouth Symphony, Ulster & BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestras, and has since returned regularly to all of these orchestras. O'Hora is now firmly established as one of Britain's leading pianists. He has performed extensively in every major country in Europe and in the US, Canada, and South Africa performing with such orchestras as the London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, and Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra.

He then created the Orchestre National de Lille, was appointed its Music Director, and since then has devoted most of his energy to this orchestra. Under his leadership, the orchestra has built a reputation as a dynamic group with an excellent repertoire, making it one of the leading orchestras in France today. Casadesus set up one of the most important series of subscription concerts in France, as well as giving over 70 concerts every year throughout the Nord/Pays-de-Calais Region and on tour. His guest conducting includes the Prague Symphony, Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) Philharmonic, Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic, Vienna Tonkunsrler, Dresden Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaus, and Mozarteum Salzburg orchestras.
