While there is no disputing Sviatoslav Richter's exceptional technique, what set his interpretations apart was his ability to immerse himself completely into the music he performed. Richter preferred the immediacy of live performances, and his extraordinary approach is on full display here, as his Ravel and Grieg interpretations are considered among the finest ever made.
