Notes & Reviews:

This program presents the provocative (yet logical) juxtaposition of two musical worlds and two Viennese Schools. The first is represented by Berg's Kammerkonzert, a key work of the twentieth-century, the second through modern arrangements from Schoenberg and Webern of Strauss's Zwei Walzer, one of the greatest successes of Romantic Vienna. Performed here by Orchestre Poitou-Charentes conducted by Jean-François Heisser, this disc features soloists Marie-Josèphe Jude on piano and François-Marie Drieux on violin.

"Here is a stunner...The Strauss waltz arrangements are brilliantly effective" -Glasgow Herald

"the Chamber Concerto is not easily approachable and I don't think it is wrong to try and sweeten it with a little Viennese schmaltz. The title of Mirare's disc suggests that that is exactly what Heisser and his musicians are trying to do." -International Record Review
