Notes & Reviews:

'... an artist to watch' (The Telegraph). UK rising star Thomas Carroll is one of only two artists to have successfully auditioned for both Young Concert Artist's Trust in London and Young Concert Artists Inc. in New York. Vienna is his debut solo album. Carroll studied with Heinrich Schiffs, and this album features performances on Schiff's Guadagnini 1767 cello. As the title suggests, this CD explores the links between three major composers, all of whom lived, worked and died in Vienna.

"Both are intensely musical accounts, with no details overlooked and no challenges ducked, and there is never any sense of either partner hogging the limelight. Yet Williams appears the dominant partner, taking the lead with forceful confidence in the scherzos of both works...while always allowing Carroll's warm, rich tone to have its say as well. In Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata the roles are reversed" -The Guardian****
