Herbert Blomstedt is a regular (and very welcome) guest conductor of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Best known to US audiences from his ten-year tenure with the San Francisco Symphony, Blomstedt currently holds the position of Honorary Conductor with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Symphony and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. Under his baton, these symphonies by Mozart and Dvorák, recorded live in 2005, receive treatments full of elegance, charm, brilliance and joy.
