In Moshinsky's classic production, recorded live at the Sydney Opera House, Dame Joan Sutherland magnificently portrays tragic heroine Leonora, supported by shining performances from Kenneth Collins as troubadour Manrico and Jonathan Summers as the Count Di Luna. Richard Bonynge conducts the Australian Opera Chorus and the Elizabethan Sydney Orchestra in a performance that emphasizes the power and majesty of this richly melodramatic work.
