Notes & Reviews:
In reviving this Shakespearean work, Orff's goal was to combine music, language, dance, representation, and space in novel fashion and with means appropriate to the times - transcending the opera and traditional incidental music. You'll quickly notice that Orff does without any sort of motivic-thematic work, instead creating architectonic sound spaces within which the whole spectrum ranging from individual tones to fully composed numbers such as songs, dances, and instrumental movements is found.Notes & Reviews:
