Notes & Reviews:

Arnaldo Cohen, one of Brazil's finest pianists, began his international career by winning the 1972 Busoni Competition. Since then he toured the world, hailed by critics as "a model of balance and Imagination," praising his "burnished, unforced bronze-like sound, in the Rachmaninoff manner" (Harold Schonberg), and "one of the greatest pianists I have ever heard" (Yehudi Menuhin). Cohen's recording of the Liszt Sonata and other works, made in the nineties, is one the consistently most satisfying recordings he ever made, displaying a strong sense of structure, deep poetic involvement and colossal technique.
