Notes & Reviews:

American Record Guide, January/February 2014
Everything about this album is set up to be wonderful: the packaging is gorgeous; the notes informative and extensive; and the thorough translations are in English, Spanish, and Galician. The songs come from Galicia, a community in northwest Spain that also has the status of a nationality. The language spoken there, Galician, is a romance language closely related to Portuguese. The pieces themselves are expansive - truly folk song captured at its best. The relatively young Gaos Orchestra (established in 2009), led by Fernando Briones, is lush and perfectly sublime.
