Notes & Reviews:

American Record Guide, May/June 2013
If you want to hear what David is capable of, listen to the other disc containing a lovely trio and a really fine string quartet as well as several short pieces for solo piano ('Pensee' and 'L'Absence' and Philippe Musard's arrangement of a waltz from Lalla-Rookh) and cello and piano ('Le Caprice', 'Le Souvenir', Henri Vieuxtemps arrangement of 'La Nuit' from Le Desert and Sebastian Lee's 'Souvenir d'Herculanum' from David's opera). These may not be on the level of Mendelssohn or Schumann but they are very attractive pieces. David has a melodic gift and a good imagination. This is well worth having. There are two musicians who are part of both of these: Andres Gabetta on violin and Christophe Coin on cello. Coin is in both playing groups and plays the cello solos. Jean- Jacques Dunkl plays the solo piano pieces. These are fine recordings played with taste and beauty.
