The Munch years are a golden age for the Boston Symphony Orchestra -- truly a great conductor leading a great orchestra -- and this set makes it easy to understand why, with superb accounts of Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Dvorák, Mahler, and Strauss.

American Record Guide, November/December 2012
There's no album booklet or notes, just a list on the back of each cardboard sleeve of what's on the disc and recording dates in really fine print. So of course there's no info as to whether these are new masterings, though I highly doubt it, given the price. These recordings were made at different times, so the sound is variable but never less than good, often excellent. All the cardboard sleeves, by the way, are packed in a simple cardboard box that opens like an old LP box set - lightweight and compact, taking up the bare minimum of shelf space. But I've written far more than necessary; all this review really had to say was, "Don't live without this!"
