Notes & Reviews:

The music on this album represents the multi-faceted works of Alfred Reed, a prolific composer. During his years as an Army Air Force bandsman, Alfred Reed proved to be very influential in the area of wind band movements, and he became an inspiration for composers around the world. While in the Army Air Force, Reed wrote more than 150 compositions and arrangements, including the extremely popular "Russian Christmas Music." One of Our Own contains twelve different pieces composed, transcribed or arranged by Alfred Reed. Featuring tracks: "Armenian Dances Part 1," "A Festival Prelude," "Thus Do You Fare, My Jesus," "Theme from Lawrence of Arabia," "Greensleeves," "Othello," "Gallop from First Suite for Band." One of Our Own is a fantastic album both delightfully written and played.
