Album Summary

Performers Conductor Ensemble Composer

Notes & Reviews:

The '1610 Vespers' is an iconic choral work, often performed, often recorded. What distinguishes this recorded version is the fact that it uses boys voices (rarely encountered in Monteverdi discography), and that it presents a musical text in strict accordance with the 1610 publication. The release of this recorded performance in 2010 celebrates the 400th anniversary of its publication in September 1610. This new release features Edward Higginbottom conducting the Choir of New College Oxford.
