Florent Schmitt's output includes some of the most impressive and influential orchestral music of the first two decades of the twentieth century. Not surprisingly, these works are equally gorgeous in their piano versions. Pianists Leslie De'Ath and Anya Alexeyev have recorded a ripe selection for this set, all but two of which are world premiere recordings in these versions. This enjoyable traversal of Schmitt's piano music is presented here in immaculate, heartfelt performances.

Psaume 47, with Susan Bullock as a fine soloist, is luxuriously delivered by the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra and chorus, with conductor Yan Pascal Tortelier ensuring an authentically Gallic musical accent.
