Notes & Reviews:

Ivana Gavric made her debut on Champs Hill Records in 2010, when her playing was described as "altogether of an extraordinary calibre" (BBC Music Magazine). Her second recording brings together works written between 1905 and 1912 by Janacek, Ravel, and Prokofiev, composers separated by nationality but linked together in possibly the most exciting period in modern European culture. The album completes Ivana's survey of Janacek's major solo piano works, accompanied by Prokofiev's trademark soaring melodies and Ravel's sensuous and quirky takes on the waltz.

American Record Guide, September / October 2012
Gavric is a complete pianist: technically proficient, very musical, intelligent and exciting. Her Ravel never loses sight of the fact that they are waltzes. Even in the Epilogue, where all of the prior waltzes are recalled through a bit of a rhythmic haze, Gavric keeps that triple beat going. The Prokofieff ranks with the best, especially the Scherzo, and would be reason enough to get this release. But her Janacek will be the main reason many get this recording. Her ability to handle to complex rhythms and textures in the sonata are quite good. I listened several times before using the score and then was astounded following along. There is no feeling of any difficulty in Gavric's performance, just a secure musical interpretation. She has all the power for the big climaxes, but it is her finesse and ability to spin a beautiful musical line that makes her a pianist to watch.
