Best known as one of the most popular British composers for brass band, Philip Wilby also has a long-standing affinity with the medium of choral music as this recording so aptly demonstrates.

The recordings were made at Wells Cathedral with its fine organ and friendly acoustic. Like the recording of choral works by Harry Bramma also reviewed in this issue, I expect that this release will appeal mainly or exclusively to fans of Anglican church music.
