Notes & Reviews:

Featuring songs like "America the Beautiful," "Let's Take the Long Way Around the World," and "Gloria's March," Chimes of Liberty is a commanding display of what can be done with two valve piston bugles accompanied by an assortment of field drums. Directed by Colonel Truman W. Crawford, most of what "The Commandant's Own" United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps performs on this recording takes the form of special arrangements of music that were initially conceived for other media. While they cover a broad spectrum of musical form, these arrangements are mostly faithful to the spirit of the original compositions, whilst displaying a unique styling and invention.

Notes & Reviews:

Includes armed forces medley by various composers.
