Conductor Ensembles Composer

Notes & Reviews:

Hearing Schumann! That was the underlying intention for these recordings of the composer's four symphonies. The instrumentation of the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano & Trento corresponds to the proportions Schumann had in mind for his compositions. Gustav Kuhn, the man conducting the orchestra ideally suited for this production, is an absolute Schumann expert. After Beethoven's nine and Brahms' four symphonies, which met with such delightful international response, this production is Col legno's latest effort to transport the contemporary music of the past into the present with a brilliant new interpretation.

Notes & Reviews:
