Notes & Reviews:

Akira Nishimura studied composition at Tokyo National University. In 1977 he won the first of numerous prizes at the Queen Elizabeth International Music Composition Competition. He is a professor at the Tokyo College of Music and music director of the Izumi Sinfonietta Osaka.
