Notes & Reviews:
Wolfgang Rihm sets the poetry of Heiner Müller, Hermann Lenz, and Rainer Maria Rilke to music! The three song cycles on this album were written specifically for Christoph Prégardien and Siegfried Mauser, who performed the premieres of each work in 1998, 2000, and 2002, respectively. Prégardien is very well known for his recordings of Schubert's Die schöne Müllerin and Schwanengesang, both released in 2008. Die schöne Müllerin was honored with the 2009 MIDEM Record of the Year Award and highly praised by Gramophone (including Editor's Choice & Best of 2008).
Notes & Reviews:Recording information: Studio 2, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Munich (10/05/2003-10/08/2003).
