Notes & Reviews:
This recording features rarely recorded music for strings by Franz Liszt that gives special form to the visionary dimension of the Liszt phenomenon. Two central works of the CD are the great Duo Sonata (1832 - 35) and the piano trio Carnival in Pest (1847 - 50) as a unique arrangement of the early version of Liszt's later Ninth Hungarian Rhapsody for piano. An outstanding chamber ensemble led by Ingolf Turban and Wen-Sinn Yang is brought together for this release.
