Notes & Reviews:

The first 3 releases of complete symphonies of Polish-English composer Panufnik with young conductor Borowitz have been met with positive praise. Works on Vol.4 include 2nd Symphony Elegiaca (1957) based on Symphony of Peace, a choral symphony written 2 years before, 3rd Symphony Sacra (1963) a tribute to Poland's 1000th anniversary of Christendom and independent statehood. The 10th symphony (1988) was commissioned for the 100th anniversary of the Chicago Symphony and Georg Solti.

"Borowicz clearly has the expressive geometry of Panufnik's thinking under his fingers...Borowicz understands perfectly when Panufnik's dual-purpose material needs dramatising and when best to leave well alone." -Gramophone

"These rather impressively refined performances under Lukasz Borowicz demonstrate, [2 & 3] are both beautifully crafted, contained pieces that never parade their emotional content too conspicuously." -The Guardian
