Notes & Reviews:

Although Georg Schumann was not a descendant of Robert Schumann he hailed from the same productive Saxon cultural landscape and was born to a highly musical family. In his early youth, he developed into a brilliant pianist able to perform challenging piano concertos. He composed his first trio while in Bremen, where he had served as conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra. His 2nd trio, written in 1916, is saturated with melodies and fully matured late romanticism.
