Notes & Reviews:

A graduate of Trinity College of Music in London, James Judd's first post was as Assistant Conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra under Lorin Maazel. Four years later, he returned to Europe after being appointed Associate Music Director of the European Community Youth Orchestra, led by Claudio Abbado. Judd became a popular guest conductor with many of Europe's most prestigious orchestras, including the Vienna Symphony, Prague Symphony, Berlin Philharmonic, and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, among many others. In his native Britain, Judd conducted and recorded with the English Chamber Orchestra, Hallé, Royal Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. He now holds the title of Music Director Emeritus of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and continues to conduct orchestras throughout the world.
