Although Huberte Vecray (1923 - 2009) devoted the essential part of her career to opera, mention should also be made of a series of radio recitals, a selection of which forms a major part of this CD. These center on her operatic repertoire and include arias from Aïda, one of Leonora's arias from Fidelio (recorded in 1954), and extracts from Tosca and Adriana Lecouvreur (in their original languages) recorded at an operatic recital conducted by Luigi Martelli.
