Notes & Reviews:
Les Voix Baroques and Arion Baroque Orchestra combine their outstanding talents for this new recording of the St. John Passion. This recording was produced at the Chapel of the Grand Seminaire in Montreal, following performances during the 2010 Bach Festival.
Gramophone Magazine, August 2012
The performance has a luminous and gently penetrating emotional impact (with one of the most moving accounts of 'Es ist vollbracht' in recent years from Meg Bragle). The instruments are discreet and yet integral, and the quality of the production adds up to a very significant, incrementally impressive new reading.
Recording information: Grand Séminaire de Montréal, Montréal, Québec, Canada (11/2010).
