Composer Henry Jackman's taut, electronic-heavy score for director Asger Leth's action-crime drama Man on a Ledge, finds the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End melodist playing it a bit safe. Jackman is more than capable of crafting a memorable theme, as evidenced by his magnificent work on 2011's X-Men First Class, and his knack for creating atmosphere with the most minimal of arrangements stays true to form during Man on a Ledge's relatively brief run time. Taken in small bits, the score produces some compelling moments, but there's hardly anything here that's groundbreaking or memorable enough to warrant more than a few cursory listens. ~ James Christopher Monger
