Organist Susan De Kam studied at Hope College and the University of Michigan. In addition to her being the recipient of numerous prizes and awards, she has been a prizewinner in the Music Teachers National Association Collegiate Organ Competition, the Miami International Organ Competition, the Bank District Organ Competition and the National Young Artists' Competition in Organ Performance. She is Artist-in-Residence at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Dallas.

Miss De Kam, a student of Glasgow and Kibbie in Michigan and currently Artist-in-Residence at St Luke's Episcopal, Dallas, performs this program on the 3-49 Kegg (2010) organ in Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau, Wisconsin. The selections cover music from the 17th to mid- 20th centuries. There is a similarity between this Kegg organ and instruments by Holtkamp: the earlier literature sounds better than music from the 20th Century. This is in no way a complaint about Ms De Kam's skills as an organist. She plays very well. Her tempos are proper, as are the registrations. There is only a modest reverberation in the church. The earlier pieces have the clarity one wants to hear in contrapuntal passages, and even the quieter works of Schumann and Brahms seem well suited to this organ. But there is an absence of feeling in the performance, especially in the Duruflé.
