Notes & Reviews:
Greek-born violinist Efi Christodoulou studied at the Athens National Conservatory and at the Guildhall School of Music. She has performed extensively in her native Greece and abroad and been featured on the BBC. She has appeared as a soloist with the Athens Symphony Orchestra, the Arcademia of Stuttgart and the Oxford Philomusica. She gave the Scottish premiere of the William Schuman Violin Concerto in Edinburgh.
Fanfare Magazine - Lynn René Bayley
As for the Sibelius Humoresques, these are the premiere recordings of the 1923 arrangements made by Karl Ekman of violin-and-string orchestra pieces. Christodoulou purposely keeps her playing light, but certainly not detached or uninteresting. Both violinist and pianist give them their all, with predictably (by now) outstanding results. This disc, to put it mildly, is a gem.
