Notes & Reviews:

Aarón Zapico and Forma Antiqva interpret this composition with an entirely new approach - exciting, sensual, and haunting. Theo Bleckmann and Uri Caine have added their own touches, presenting their premiere of "The Four Seasons Sonnets." Dutch painter and concept artist Marcel van Eeden, inspired by Zapico's Four Seasons, created eight new drawings for this stunning musical cycle.

American Record Guide, January/February 2013
Die-hard classical collectors will probably not like this program, but I think that collectors who enjoy crossover might like it. I found the contrast between the modern music of the sonnets and the traditional classical of the concertos jarring. The recording itself is fine, with excellent sound.

Notes & Reviews:

Personnel: Aitor Hevia (violin).
