Performer
Louis Krasner (Violin)
Notes & Reviews:
Fritz Busch was music director of the Konsertförenings Orkester Stockholm from 1937 to 1940, when he was forced to leave Denmark because of World War II. He returned to Denmark after the war and the recordings on this disc come from both pre- and post-war performances.
American Record Guide, January/February 2013
The gem here is a Hindemith Symphonic Metamorphosis that may be the best performance I have ever heard. It has overwhelming energy and panache; the rhythms have a jazzy swing and the percussion will rattle the doors. The Berg concerto is notable since Louis Krasner had premiered the work only two years before this concert.
