Notes & Reviews:

Songs and piano solos by Liszt and Wagner are performed by Viennese soprano Elisabeth Linhart, and the pianist with the Vienna Symphony Virtuosi, Karl Eichinger.

American Record Guide, May/June 2013
The beautiful program was recorded in 2011. The program tries to recreate the "World of the Romantic Era". It is equally divided between Franz Liszt and Richard Wagner, father-in-law and son-in-law. As a program it is a delight. Liszt's concert etude Waldesrauschen is excitingly played by pianist Eichinger, who also plays a dulcet, sensuous Liebestraum III and a heaven-storming Ballade No. 2. Eichinger is a sensitive accompanist for Linhart in six songs (two in French, four in German) by Liszt and the Wesendonck-Lieder.
