Notes & Reviews:

This is the first recording of the historic 1723 Abraham Jordan organ in St. George's Church, Southall, completely restored to its original specification by Mander Organs in 2009. Critically acclaimed organist William Whitehead presents a colorful survey of Restoration and Georgian English organ music appropriate to the restored instrument.

American Record Guide, July/August 2013
This recording is a showcase for the 1723 Abraham Jordan organ at St George's Church, Southall. The instrument was originally built for St George's Church, Botolph Lane, in the City of London, a church designed by Christopher Wren. Whitehead's playing is always elegant and animated. The organ tone is very attractive. The foundation tone is smooth and understated. It is worth remembering that in the 18th Century one of the highest compliments that could be paid to an organ was to describe it as "sweet-toned".
