Notes & Reviews:

Along with Corelli and Scarlatti, Pasquini played a major part in the musical life of Rome, and was famous for his skill as both a harpsichordist and organist. The cantatas featured on this new CD, were composed for Holy Week at the Borghese Chapel. The richness of Pasquini's scoring and the textures created make for a lush and sumptuous sound. His depictions of thunder and lightning as well as stormy seas are truly impressive.

American Record Guide, July / August 2012
These are likely first recordings, and no other vocal music by Pasquini is in the ARG index. Notes and bios are translated into English. The interesting texts are only in Italian, even though re-arranging the booklet contents would likely have allowed for the inclusion of translations without adding extra pages.
