Notes & Reviews:

The 2nd disc in a comprehensive 10 part series of cantatas for the liturgical year, created in celebration of the 800th anniversary of the St. Thomas' Boys Choir Leipzig. Cantor Biller has chosen exceptional soloists from the choir's own ranks - a hallmark of this recording's outstanding quality, and one that distinguishes it from other productions.

American Record Guide, November/December 2012
This is Volume 2 in a projected set of ten Bach cantata albums for the seasons and feast days Guides.qxd 9/26/2012 12:33 PM Page 91 of the liturgical year in performances by the choir of St Thomas Church, Leipzig and the Gewandhaus Orchestra. I have already reviewed Volume 10 of the series: cantatas for Michaelmas and Reformation Day (Rondeau 4031; July/Aug 2012). The performances are under the direction of Georg Christoph Biller, who in 1992 was appointed the 16th cantor since JS Bach himself. The series is scheduled to be complete in March of 2014.
