Notes & Reviews:

With his 32 piano sonatas, Beethoven made one of the most pronounced developments in the history of piano music, completing the Classical Age almost single-handedly and setting off Romanticism. Here, Yoshiko Okada - who has studied with Yvonne Loriod, Nikita Magaloff, and Alicia de Larrocha and has performed several times in Carnegie Hall - presents three particularly striking examples of Beethoven's sonatas.
