Notes & Reviews:

Music connoisseurs around the world know Georges Aperghis, above all, as a man of music theatre. His "purely instrumental music" without scenic ingredients often receives less notice than his spectacular theatrical works, despite the fact that the Paris-based composer has by no means neglected the instrumental genre. He has also been consistently producing arioso scenes for voice and ensemble, as well as chamber music. Over the past few years, this last area of his work has once again come into focus, and this CD brings together three important pieces for ensemble from the past 10 years.
