Notes & Reviews:
Giovannni Battista Bassani was one of the foremost representatives of the Bolognese School. His works were well known during his lifetime, and composers like Handel and Bach knew and esteemed them highly. Ensemble StilModerno adheres to the Historically Informed Performance Practice and plays these original and skillfully written works with passion and virtuosity.
American Record Guide, November/December 2012
There are few recordings of Bassani's music, so this is a welcome addition to the discography. I highly praised the Fenice Ensemble's recording of his oratorio La Morte Delusa conducted by Jean Tubery.
