Notes & Reviews:

As great pianist Sviatoslav Richter recollected, his love for music was born as a result of the impression he received upon hearing his father play Chopin's Nocturne in Fis-dur; this program is crowned with the large scale Fourth Scherzo.

BBC Music Magazine
...several recordings, such as that of the C sharp minor Etude, Op. 25, are out of this world.

The works of Chopin have had a big influence on Richter's performing life. He attributed his love of music to his father playing a Chopin Nocturne and the program of his very first recital included many of Chopin's works. He turned back to these works in later years. This recital was recorded live in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory in May 1967.
