Notes & Reviews:

Weber's The Grand Duo concertant is a unique work, and a special characteristic is its perfect combination of form and effect, heard on this album as a duo for clarinet and piano. "The selection of other pieces on our first CD together is also in accordance with the idea of 'form and effect,'" says pianist Florian Feilmair about the recording with his clarinetist brother, Benjamin. The other composers are rooted in French tradition and develop their ideas by "emphasizing form into spectacular phrases." Benjamin and Florian Feilmair are critically acclaimed solo and chamber musicians, often playing together as a duo.

American Record Guide, September / October 2012
The Feilmair brothers certainly have the tools to become international soloists. They are gifted, knowledgeable, and confident, and their performances are energetic and sincere. Further growth and refinement, though, is required. Benjamin has a nice sound, but his clarity, intonation, and legato are not always consistent; and while Florian draws an impressive array of volume out of the piano, his touch sometimes has a percussive quality. Both brothers have boundless technique and color palettes, but they do not yet possess the kind of large-scale thinking and artistic profundity that only comes with time and maturity.
