Notes & Reviews:
Now, for the first time, you can hear Franz Schubert and Wilhelm Müller's "Winterreise" in Norwegian! The cycle, consisting of 24 songs, is the manifesto of a lover's grief, written by a man during the last year of his life. Håvard Stensvold, an opera singer educated in Copenhagen, spent many years creating a singable translation of this great work; the idea arose from the desire to remove some of the distance between performer and listener. Pianist Tor Espen Aspaas assists superbly as fellow traveler in this visualization of Schubert's winter landscape.
