For those who aren't as familiar with us, the song is a great sample of the 'Edge' side of Edens Edge," sole male trio member Dean Berner says of the song. "Fans can definitely expect to see a lot of versatility with that country roots sound to connect them all on the 'Edens Edge.
Edens Edge are quite the talented band and they wear their bluegrass roots on their sleeves and are able to deliver a modern country meets bluegrass sound that feels uniquely their own.

The emotional climax of the album is "Cherry Pie," a flowing, contemporary bluegrass tune that swells with love as it recalls the third grade teachers, brothers, grandparents and others who provide a lasting influence. A soaring coda closes the song as Dean and Cherrill trade off melodic dobro and mandolin solos. Vocally, the trio is at its best on the Southern Gospel "Christ Alone," an a cappella gem with shimmering harmonies. It's a tantalizing reminder of vocal power that features stirring drops as Hannah's lead falls into Cherrill's and Dean's voices.
To change it up a bit, enter a song with a different kind of love characterized by the innocence of childhood. With such a sweet, rich melody, "Cherry Pie" will immediately captivate listeners. The lyrics are sweetly reminiscent of childhood roll models and influences. Oh I hope you understand/You have so much to do with who I am. You'll be back in your own childhood after this one.
Prior to listening to this album, we couldn't wait to hear a ballad from this group. It's obvious that vocally, this group is in elite company... but that doesn't always transcend into success with slower songs. "Last Supper," one of the more emotional songs on the record, showcases Blaylock's incredible range and delivery, while "Cherry Pie," with its modern bluegrass feel, delivers a powerful message amidst beautiful pageantries of the dobro, mandolin, and harmonizing vocals.
Traditionally, the album-closer has always been an interesting choice by each artist as to with what lasting impression they'd like to leave the listener. Edens Edge may have delivered the most powerful message of the entire record with the final track, "Christ Alone," an a cappella masterpiece that will leave the listener in awe of not only the individual talent of Blaylock, but also the impeccable vocal flexibility of Green and Berner as well. Although there is no instrumentation, this track still encompasses some of the most beautiful harmonies on the entire album.

This summer, Edens edge will open for Rascal Flatts' CHANGED TOUR, which begins in Hartfor, CT on June 15. While last year, they were chosen to open three major Country tours - Brad Paisley's H2O II: Wetter and Wilder World Tour, Reba's All the Women I am Tour, and Lady Antebellum's Own The Night Tour. "Edens Edge has been together for several years, but we know we're still newbies, so it's really humbling to have been invited on some amazing tours! We can't thank Flatts, Reba, Brad or Lady A enough for allowing us to open up their shows and play for their fans. Let summer begin!" said Berner.
The Arkansas-bred trio grew up about an hour from each other but wasn't introduced by mutual friends until early adulthood. They began performing together and entered the 2006 NSAI Song Contest, where iconic songwriter Kye Fleming discovered them and encouraged a move to Nashville to pursue their musical careers. It was during their 2009 performance at Fleming's induction ceremony into the Nashville Songwriters Hal of Fame where Big Machine Lable Group Presidnet & CEO Scott Borchetta took notice and quickly signed Edens Edge. Since, they have been profiled as one of Billboard's "Artists to Watch" and were selected as a CMT LISTEN UP! Artist.

Edens Edge strike a careful blend of Lady Antebellum and Pistol Annies on their eponymous 2012 debut. Produced by Mark Bright, a hitmaker for the likes of Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts, Edens Edge certainly has a cool, bright sheen that fits neatly into the parameters of contemporary country-pop radio, but the group threads in traces of twang reminiscent of Miranda Lambert at her smoothest. Lead vocalist Hannah Blaylock invites these comparisons by leaning hard into the choruses, but Bright's arrangements are underpinned by acoustic guitars and Dobros, down-home instruments that peek out from underneath the gloss. The most appealing thing about Edens Edge -- both the group and the album -- is that they're at heart a pop group, one that's nearly as soft and ready for crossover as Lady Antebellum, but these strategically deployed roots flourishes keep them from being too slick and sugary, a risk the group certainly flirts with throughout the album. And, like much mainstream country of the new millennium, there is a heavier emphasis on product placement and name-dropping than necessary -- allusions to Bocephus and Alan Jackson in no way lend the group grit -- because Edens Edge's music is so pretty it needs no extra sweetening; it's the kind of music that becomes a hit not through its insistence but through its gentleness. Edens Edge may lack a distinguishing personality -- they're eager to fit into the confines of commercial country -- but the trio plays the game cleanly on this album, winding up with an ingratiating country-pop debut. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
