I Can Make That Happen was the last session released by Detroit bluesman Johnnie Bassett. Released on the Sky Dog label, Bassett blends blues, jazz, and soul, achieving a diverse, listenable album as opposed to rehashing blues clichés. Among the 11 cuts are "Proud to Be from Detroit," "Motor City Blues," "Let's Get Hammered," and cover versions of Lowell Fulson's "Reconsider Baby" and Solomon Burke's 1962 R&B hit "Cry to Me." ~ Al Campbell
